I think you are downplaying the huge disincentives the welfare and elderly care state give to being childless.

Basically, Children are the ultimate saving and pension plan. Without kids, Humans can't save, period.

However, with the welfare/social security/ pension tax advantages - You can use other people kids!

And parenting, while being good for its own, is also a lot of good, most of the economic value goes back to society in general, which uses it to support elderly people, regardless to if they had kids or not.

Basically, parents subsidize non-parents, and in big amount. How much social security for old people and pension tax advantages cost?

There are 8 billion people already. More than enough to last a million years at below replacement levels. I really don't think "population collapse" is a legitimate issue for sane people to seriously fret about.
